Marine Corps Combat Veteran, Founder — Iron Legacy Project
Cody Edie is the founder of Iron Legacy Project and a Marine Corps Combat Veteran.
Like so many veterans, Cody's transition out of the Marine Corps was harder than any deployment. The structure, the purpose, and the brotherhood of service were gone, and in their place came silence. For a time, he turned to alcohol to cope with what he couldn't put into words — the weight of what he'd carried, and the feeling that no one back home understood it, or even cared to.
Cody's turning point came through his faith. After becoming a Christian, he found the strength to get sober and start facing what he'd been running from — his mental health, his past, and his purpose. He has been at the bottom, and he knows firsthand the particular kind of alone that so many veterans feel: like their service and sacrifice have been forgotten, and like nobody is in their corner.
That conviction is why Iron Legacy Project exists. Cody believes no veteran should have to fight that battle without backup. Iron Legacy Project is his answer — a band of brothers and sisters committed to standing beside veterans in their hardest seasons, the same way they once stood beside each other in uniform.
